Cabaret Fund Raiser

The Cabaret is an annual event with the primary focus on raising money to feed the hungry. However, it is also a fun and entertaining event that is more successful every year.  The 2011 Cabaret raised $133,000!

Save the date! The 20th Anniversary Cabaret will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel Lisle/Naperville. Click here for more details about the 2012 Cabaret. Our goal for Cabaret 2012 is $150,000. If you would like to make a donation, contribute a raffle item or become a sponsor, please contact cabaret@wcpinc.org.

Personal Care needs: bathroom tissue, diapers (especially sizes 3, 4 & 5), cleaning products, laundry detergent, toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste etc).

Donations may be dropped off at the Pantry Monday - Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you have a large donation, please contact the Pantry at 630.512.9921 to schedule an appointment.

Monetary

As members of America's Second Harvest through Northern Illinois Food Bank, the pantry can purchase many foods at $.18 per pound. This means, for instance, that a box of cereal which costs you $3.00 to $4.00 in the grocery store can be purchased by us for $.14 to $.18. $360 buys one ton of food!

For this reason, we encourage monetary donations.
Your contribution toward our goal can be made online or by mail.

Corporate Donors

Corporate donors are our partners in feeding the hungry. Among others, we are grateful to Jewel Food Store, Starbuck's, Whole Foods, Panera Bread, The Farm (produce), Cargill, Pepperidge Farm, Target, Meijer Food Stores, Costco and GFS, who regularly donate food and/or sizeable monetary contributions.

Food Drives Food Drives - Remember, $320 buys 1 TON of food!

Food drives are also a valuable source of our incoming food, especially the major drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers in May, and in November, Harvest Sunday. Schools, churches, and the business community continually add needed supplies.

Your donation in fiscal year 2010 allowed us to:

  • Serve 9,581 food orders to 37,416 persons, including 16,888 children and 2,646 seniors. This is an overall increase of nearly 60% over 2008!
  • Distribute over 100,000 diapers
  • Give birthday kits to 325 children 10 and under
  • Help 350 elementary and junior high students get the school supplies they need
  • Distribute 1.2 million pounds of food
  • Provide 154,350 breakfasts for children whose families qualified for the free or reduced fee school lunch program
  • YOU gave us 17,770 volunteer hours.  According to Independent Sector research on the real value of volunteer time, those hours are worth over $390,000 to the Pantry. Thank YOU!
