MISSION STATEMENT:
The Woodridge Community Pantry is an emergency food pantry serving the community by feeding the hungry and sharing resources to improve the quality of life.
It seeks to eradicate hunger within families and individuals in the Woodridge area and to serve other unmet human needs of the community.

Services We Provide

The Pantry provides food and personal care items for almost 2,000 persons each month.  Clients may come once a month for a full food order. They are given a choice of foods, so that they may pick what will be best utilized for their families and situations.  We strive to maintain a supply of sugar free and gluten free foods for those who have special dietary needs.

In addition to food, the pantry provides all of its clients a number of services to help improve quality of life.

  • Registration for All Kids Insurance and Access DuPage health care is available whenever the pantry is open (go to the Health Insurance page)
  • ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered three times a year.
  • The Pantry is an Express Stamps Program location. Clients who are eligible for food stamps can get their initial LINK card at the Pantry.
  • Our seniors, or those homebound for medical reasons, can enjoy home delivery from a caring volunteer.
  • Children from families in need in School District 68 are given a free breakfast (cereal bar and carton of milk) every school day throughout the year

In addition, Woodridge residents receive:

  • Birthday kits, which are a party in a bag, offer cake, frosting, candles, plates, napkins, and party favors for a party of six for children 2-12.  Children or their parents may also choose a birthday present from our wide selection of games and toys.
  • Diapers and baby food
  • School supplies are available year round
  • Coats, donated by the DuPage Bar Association, are available for children and adults, usually in November and December
  • Easter baskets for each child in the household help to brighten the holiday.
  • Special dinners are available for Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as Christmas gifts for children and senior citizens.

Plans are underway to offer classes in nutrition, parenting, and budgeting.  If you would like to volunteer your services in any of these areas, please contact Anne at the pantry (630-512-9921).
